You know, moving to a new country can sometimes feel overwhelming.
Even when you speak the same language - sort of - there is so much to learn, and plenty of mistakes one can make.
Hello, and welcome. I am Humphrey Johnson, and I certainly had this experience in moving to America.
But over the years, with living and working in several different parts of this country, I started to take things in.
And along the way, I eventually stumbled across the Outlaws of Country Music . . . and I became fascinated.
All these different stories of different American lives had me captivated, painting pictures of at least some of the pieces that make up the giant, diverse puzzle of American life and all its many cultures.
And I began to see how so many people were drawn to this genre of music.
There was something about it that just pulled you in.
Then I learned what it was.
It all boiled down to this: Three chords and the truth.
And you know, there is a lesson in this - for all of us - lawyers included.
If you want people to listen to you, if you want to be truly heard, whether for yourself, or for those you represent, keep it simple, and do the very best you can to ensure what you say is in fact the truth.
Hey, thank you for listening, and I hope to see you again soon.
Goodbye.
